The Dodos

"Don't Stop"

Ever since releasing the breakthrough LP Visiter in 2008, San Francisco's the Dodos have been undermining any preconceptions you might have about the phrase "acoustic duo." Next month, the tribal folk rockers will release their fourth full-length, No Color, via Frenchkiss. Now, we have a preview of what's in store on the form of the album track "Don't Stop."

With its dense acoustic fingerpicking and rapid-fire percussion, the track is a prime example of the band's technical wizardry. There are also a few electric guitar overdubs, fulfilling frontman Meric Long's promise that the new record would include "Billy Corgan riffs."

If you thought that the restrained percussion and plunking vibraphones of 2009's Time to Die diluted the Dodos' sound, consider this track a return to form. Download it for free from the label right here.
