Don't you think?

Nothing is ironic about cover connoisseur Kelly Clarkson's rendition of Alanis Morissette's '90s hit "Ironic."

The latest Kellyoke segment on The Kelly Clarkson Show yielded a melancholic take on the famous chorus; the singer (and her band Y'all) ultimately transformed the song into a rock-tinged ballad: "It's like rain on your wedding day / It's a free ride when you've already paid / It's the good advice that you just didn't take / And who would've thought… it figures."

The '90s hit single is featured on Morissette's quintessential third album, Jagged Little Pill, which was nominated for nine Grammys, including Album of the Year — which ultimately honoured the singer (and soon-to-be Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee) as the youngest artist to do so at that point.

Past segments have seen the first American Idol titleholder covering Radiohead's "Fake Plastic Trees," My Chemical Romance's "Welcome to the Black Parade" and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers' "Under the Bridge."

Which alt-rock classic is next on the Kellyoke itinerary? Take a listen to the newest cover below.

Morissette, along with RHCP's Chad Smith, will be among an array of artists performing at the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert in Los Angeles on September 27.
