Several people were injured during a stampede at Lil Wayne's Lil WeezyAna Fest in New Orleans on Saturday night (September 7).

According to the Times-Picayune/New Orleans Advocate, an estimated 15,000 people began running after Meek Mill's set on Saturday night. Police have not confirmed what caused the disturbance, but cited possible rumours of gunfire or fights in the crowd.

However, police on site later confirmed no shots were fired on the festival grounds.

It's unclear how many people were injured, though onsite medical staffers treated concertgoers for injuries like cuts, scrapes and bruises after fans fell to the ground and were trampled. There were also reports of fences being knocked down, tables being flipped and concessions stands being looted.

Nevertheless, the show continued after the ruckus calmed down, with Travis Scott and Lil Wayne both performing sets as scheduled.
