Earlier this month, Slayer and Exodus guitarist Gary Holt said that he was suffering from the symptoms of COVID-19. Turns out, he was right — Holt has since tested positive for the coronavirus.

Holt shared an Instagram post that has since been removed, but was archived by Blabbermouth. In the post, Holt revealed that he was right to self-quarantine after experiencing symptoms because he had tested positive after all.

"So I finally received my test results back and positive it was," he wrote on Instagram, adding that his wife was not infected. "Lisa's came back negative, and it's been long enough since my symptoms that I am officially in the clear to do the only things I'm allowed, like buy my own groceries! I feel great, made it through the tougher moments, and my health feels 100 percent normal."

After Slayer played their final shows together last year, Holt is now hard at work on some new Exodus riffs.
