When Sleigh Bells titled their sophomore album Reign of Terror, we had a pretty good idea that it was going to be just as ferociously heavy as 2010's outstanding Treats. It's not too much of a surprise, then, that the first single is here and it sounds absolutely massive (or, in singer Alexis Krauss's words, "immense").
Entitled, "Born to Lose," this piledriving track offers more of the band's patented blend of ultra-distorted metal riffs, crunk-tinged electro beats and melodic pop vocals. It's possibly a little less blown-out sounding than much of Treats (there's even a hint of jangle in the outro), but this duo certainly hasn't gone soft.
