Turnstile have announced the departure of founding guitarist Brady Ebert.
"We are deeply grateful for our time together," the Baltimore band wrote, announcing they had parted ways with Ebert in an Instagram story viewed by Exclaim! "Our love for him continues and we wish him nothing but the best moving forward."
You can see Turnstile's post below.
Ebert (pictured far left, above) co-founded Turnstile in 2010 alongside vocalist Brendan Yates, bassist-vocalist Franz Lyons, drummer Daniel Fang and guitarist Sean Cullen (who would leave the band in 2015).
His playing can be heard on all three of the band's studio albums: 2015 debut Nonstop Feeling, 2018's Time & Space and last year's GLOW ON, which Exclaim! named one of the Best Albums of 2021.
Ebert performed with the band at Turnstile's NPR's Tiny Desk (Home) Concert earlier this year, along with a musical guest appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! More recently, Ebert was not present for a May appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, as well as an interview with Nardwuar published that month.
BrooklynVegan noted that performances behind GLOW ON earlier this year saw guitarist Greg Cerwonka (Take Offense) join Turnstile onstage in Ebert's stead. Cerwonka — who was photographed in action for Exclaim!'s review of Turnstile's Toronto concert in May — previously contributed a guitar solo to Nonstop Feeling track "Fazed Out."
Turnstile recently played in Montreal as part of Osheaga 2022, and will tour North America this fall as one-third of an all-Baltimore bill with Snail Mail and JPEGMAFIA.
