From All the Right Reasons to "All the Small Things," reappraised rockers Nickelback have unveiled a cover of blink-182's most popular hit.
Nickelback performed the song last night (June 14) at Montreal, QC's Bell Centre. It wasn't a full-length cover, but rather an intro to "Animals," the 2005 single from All the Right Reasons.
A 49-second video captured by Josiah Hughes (a former Exclaim! editor, now of the podcast-turned-Substack 155 Newsletter) shows Nickelback performing the song with a little extra alt-rock gusto while mostly sticking to the mall-punk peppiness of the original. Guitarist Ryan Peake handles lead vocals, rather than Chad Kroeger, although you'd never know the difference from his yarling performance.
