Indie rockers Whitney have shared a frightening story of being robbed over the weekend.
The band's Josiah Marshall posted a photo to Instagram late yesterday evening (April 5), warning friends that he would be without his phone for some time following the robbery, which took place in broad daylight in Portland earlier that day. The photo also shows screenshots of correspondence relating to the cancellation of credit cards.
"We all just got robbed at gunpoint a few blocks from our house," Marshall wrote in the post. "We'll be without our phones for a bit. Stay safe out there. Weird times."
While a number of posts confirm that everyone involved in the robbery was unharmed, it is not clear what was stolen or if more members of the band were present.
In his own post, Jonathan Mooney added: "Got robbed at gunpoint in broad daylight near Laurelhurst Park today. I'm totally fine, no one was hurt."
The band finished up their North American tour in mid-February before the COVID-19 crisis affected the majority of live performances across the continent. Marshall just celebrated his birthday two days ago by hosting an Instagram livestream concert. Whitney's latest album was Forever Turned Around, which arrived last summer.
