Zyklon

Still bearing the dark mark of black metal, Zyklon’s sophomore effort demonstrates a powerful death metal groove as well. Aeon is a growling, grinding monstrosity, even more grotesquely brutal when it slowly writhes than when its velocity reaches a hellish peak. When Zyklon hold back the tempo, Aeon opens up, leaving room for thick, driving riffs and lead guitar experimentation punctuated by industrialised synth and a few carefully chosen samples. Bringing each track to equal heights, Zyklon have created an album of consistent strength and endurance that pours ever forward to culminate in a binding of eerie melody and savagery.
